About The Book

Bank Street's Best Children's Picture Books in Spanish 2022

These chickens aren't so chicken!

When Mother Hen takes her little chickens to the playground for the first time, they feel a little timid. It’s crowded and exciting—but also a little scary. As they watch the big dogs, cats, and pigs play on the seesaws, merry-go-round, and swings, the little chickens aren’t sure they want to participate. But when they see the little mice and frogs having fun on the slide the little chickens reconsider.

A beloved story about overcoming fears and doing things for the first time with the help of new friends!

“Just the ticket for any little chicken whose courage could use a boost.”—Publishers Weekly on Chicken Chickens
“A perfect choice for a day-care read-aloud or one-on-one sharing.”—School Library Journal on Chicken Chickens
