We're Hiring: Digital Marketing/Design Intern at Simon & Schuster Canada
Do you have an eye for design? Do you know what it takes to create a viral TikTok video? Do you eat, sleep, and breathe books?
Simon & Schuster Canada is looking for a creative, motivated candidate for a digital marketing/design internship. Our internship program runs for three months and offers the candidate an opportunity to learn about the publishing industry in a dynamic and interactive way, supporting and collaborating with the marketing and art departments, while getting acquainted with other departments including publicity, editorial, and sales. As a marketing intern you will gain hands-on experience in various areas of brand marketing, design, book marketing, social media, content marketing, and digital advertising. The ideal applicant will possess a strong knowledge of the digital media landscape, including various social media platforms, and have a keen eye for content creation and design. Oh, we might have said this already… but you must love books!
Responsibilities
- Work with the marketing team to implement campaigns.
- Work with the marketing team and the creative studio team to create digital content.
- Create engaging social media content, including visually compelling Instagram photos/reels, and TikTok videos.
- Support the marketing team with research, mailings, admin, and other tasks as needed.
- Collaborate with other publishing teams as needed.
Qualifications
- Strong creative and analytical skills.
- Ability to write clear and engaging social media and advertising copy.
- Knowledge of Bookstagram and BookTok (if you have your own accounts, even better!)
- Demonstrated use of social media platforms.
- Proficient in design software, specifically InDesign and Photoshop.
- Experience shooting photography and video.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Excellent organizational ability, time management and prioritization capabilities.
- Ability to work alone and in a group setting.
Start Date: Mid-January
Salary: Minimum hourly wage x 37.5 hours per week
S&S Canada is currently working both remotely and in-person, and the ideal candidate will be based in the Greater Toronto area and be able to come into our downtown Toronto office approximately three times a week. Please note that only those authorized to work in Canada will be considered.
